Youth Ambassador Program

You are never too young to go PURPLE!

Needham Goes Purple (NGP) encourages children, teenagers and young adults to join us in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease!  This is a great way to earn community service hours while having fun, connecting with other young volunteers and working toward an important cause.

We offer a variety of opportunities to become involved in helping to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. These include:

  • Lemonade stands: Needham Goes Purple sets up lemonade stands throughout Needham on June 6 from 10-2. Our volunteers help set up stands, serve lemonade and collect donations.
  • Decorate parking meters. For the first two weeks in June, we are turning the town of Needham purple by adorning the Needham parking meters with purple decorations and tagging them with information about the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease. Exact dates for decorating and taking down decorations are to be determined.
  • Other events: We will be planning other events and opportunities that will involve our youth ambassadors. Check back on our site throughout the year!
