Governor Charlie Baker, like so many, has been personally affected by Alzheimer’s disease. His beloved mother, a person who he has described as “beautiful, graceful and courageous” and someone he credits with shaping his commitment to service, passed away in 2016 after a long battle with the illness.
Governor Baker, who grew up in Needham, signed legislation in 2018 that is enhancing efforts to train front line caregivers on recognizing and treating dementia more effectively, and increasing support for families of loved ones to prepare and manage the effects of Alzheimer’s.
He is an ardent supporter of the cause. Won’t you join him?
